Phantasy Star Universe

SEGA of Europe have today confirmed the release date for Phantasy Star Universe in Europe (PAL Encoded)!

The magic date you need to note down is 24th November 2006! The date has been posted officially on SEGA Europe's website, and it should be noted that it doesn't specify a date per platform, meaning that all three versions of PSU are to be released at the sametime across PlayStation2, PC & Xbox360? Quite possibly... The game when it was last seen at the Leizpig games conference in Germany for Xbox360 was far through the development process, so the delay for the games release in Europe (A month after America's release comes) could sit well for Xbox360 owners who can't wait to start breaking out some achivement points for their gamercards!

Be sure to Pre-Order the game now so you don't miss out when the time comes! Here's some handy links you might like to click around on:

N.B. Prices shown above may change when delivery is added on.

Looking at the prices shown above, it's interesting to see that the PS2 version is selling at an SRP of £24.99 - £29.99 (With new games normally at RRP £34.99 - £39.99) and that the Xbox360 version is also selling at a £10 below normal price selling at an SRP of £39.99 (With new games retailing at RRP £49.99). The PC version isn't at an all bad price either! Does this mean that SEGA Europe have decided on a cheaper pricing strategy to hook people into a longer Guardians (A.k.a. Hunters) License account to make the difference back? Maybe, but the cheaper the better from where i'm sitting!

Websites also state as thought above that the Xbox360 version of the title is being released on the same date as the PS2 & PC version. Good times for everyone, yay! More Soon ^_^

Site Update

Ragol.co.uk - The Foremost Phantasy Star Online Resource

Today is a sad day for Ragol.co.uk as we announce that Ragol.co.uk Site Founder Sol is leaving the site's administration due to external pressure.

Ragol.co.uk - Europe's biggest and most popular Phantasy Star Online Resource - has been going for well over three years now since being put together by Sol and today over 60,000 people visit Ragol.co.uk per day, reaching a high of just below 100,000 a day! Today we're recognised by SEGA themselves all across the world, and can now look forward to a healthy future with backing from SEGA in the wait up to the release of Phantasy Star Universe in Europe. We also have an amazing Forum Community boasting over 2,500 members, and almost 200,000 posts!

All of this wouldn't have been possible without the site that Sol built, so from me and no doubt all of the Ragol.co.uk Team, we wish you the best of luck with all of your future endeavours.

Phantasy Star Universe - Now in English!

SEGA of America have now launched phantasystaruniverse.com... IN ENGLISH! You can now check out everything you wanted to know through SEGA's newest official site for the game, exactly as it'll be released in English (I.e. Japanese - English names, in-game system details, etc).

They've also announced the release date for the game in America which stands at 24th October.

What's particularly interesting though is that the 'Guardians License' (PSU's Hunters License) system goes through the same area as that of Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst's through PlaySEGA.com.

"If you are a Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst player, your Game ID can be used to purchase a subscription to Phantasy Star Universe; you do not need to create a second profile." - phantasystaruniverse.com

Does that mean that you can pay to play both PSO: BB and PSU at the sametime? Hopefully!

For all the PSU goodness, be sure to get over to phantasystaruniverse.com right now! Credit goes to Ragol.co.uk Forumer 'the_importer' who is hot on the heels on everything PSU as soon as it happens it seems! lol - And btw incase you're wondering, European release date still Winter TBA.

[UPDATE] The website has changed again! But not by much mind, just a new starter page for those to decide whether they want to see their new site in English, and Japanesey.
