Challenge Mode - Stage 6 - General Information |
Ugh....now this is one hell of a Challenge...this is up amongst the hardest ones. What makes it so hard isn't puzzles (there's only one of any difficulty) but the fact that you must fight so hard and for so long without using your items up. It's long (like C4 long) and it has way more Sinows, Garanz, and Dubchics (which slow you down insanely). This challenge also has a huge variance of maps (like C4 did) which grants great TA maps and terrible regular maps. The notable difference in the maps on this stage is the fact that you can't tell from the first few areas if a map is good or not. I once had a map where my team got to area 28 in about 13 minutes (that would've yielding a time around 23-24 minutes, had the trend kept up), however, it suddenly went down the crapshoot in Area 28 and there were waves and waves of monsters and a dubchic in almost every room...so never assume anything with this challenge other than "It's gonna be hard". Recommended Team: 1 Ranger, 2 Hunters (a HUcast and HUmar/HUcaseal), and a FO (you don't want two FOs here because they arent too helpful on Vol Opt). Estimated Completion Time: Around 41-48 minutes Challenge Mode - Stage 6 - Area 25 (Non-TA) |

1) Kill everything and exit Southeast 2) Kill everything and exit Southwest 3) Run through and exit East (don't hit switches) 4) Kill everything and exit East 5) After going through the trap infested hallway, you must kill everything and exit East. 6) DARK ROOM: Entering the North door will lead you to a light switch, then exit East 7) Kill everything and exit East. 8) In this room, you need to step on the floor switch in the Northeast corner (which is on the left side of the room farthest away from you when you enter) to open the South door. Have your boxcollector go East, everybody else go South. 9) Kill everything and exit Southeast to warp to Area 26. Estimated Current Time: Around 7 minutes. 1) Kill everything and exit East. 2) In the Northwest corner of this room there is a fake wall that leads to three boxes. Have your boxcollector go this way as one box here always contains a buster for your HU. Everyone else will go East. 3) Kill everything, exit East 4) Kill everything, exit East and warp to Area 27 Challenge Mode - Stage 6 - Area 27 (Non-TA) |
Estimated Current Time: Around 14 minutes. 1) Kill everything and exit East. 2) Kill everything and exit South. 3) Kill everything and exit South. 4) Kill everything and exit Southwest. 5) Kill everything and exit Southeast. 6) Kill everything and exit East. 7) DARK ROOM: Have your box collector go through the North passage to hit the light switch and to get some boxes. Then exit Northeast (once everything is dead). 8) Kill everything and exit Northeast. 9) Have your box collector head South, everybody else warp. 10) There's a fake wall on the North end of this room which leads to a health ring, grab it if you need it. Then exit East to warp to Area 28. Challenge Mode - Stage 6 - Area 28 (Non-TA) |

Estimated Current Time: 23 minutes. 1) Kill everything and exit Northeast. 2) Kill everything and exit North. 3) Kill everything and exit North. 4) In here destroy the foie traps and then warp. 5) BIG PUZZLE: See the humongous laser square? One person is going in there while the other three release the lasers to let them through. Only the blue fences will open when the appropriate floor switch is pressed so don't bother with the red fences (the one person that goes in should only focus on staying near the blue fence). In any case, this is how you solve this puzzle. The Southwest corner is where it starts, have the person who is going into the square get near the blue fence thats on the perimeter of the square. I'll refer to the switches by numbers, hit them in this order. There is one at each position of the compass (north, northwest, west, etc). 1 is in the southwest corner (right next to the blue fence on the perimeter), 2 is at the north end, 3 is at the east end, 4 is at the end northwest, 5 is at southeast corner, 6 is at the northeast end, 7 is at south end, and 8 is at the west end. For each switch, you have to stand on them and wait for the one person to cross through the fence. Then you move on to the next switch, it is wise to designate certain switches to certain people. I prefer having one person do 1, 4, and 7 then another doing 2 and 6, and the last doing 3, 5, and 8. Once the one person gets through gate 8 HIT THE SWITCH BEFORE WARPING!! The switch unlocks the Southeast door, the 3 members outside the square should already be on their way there, the one inside warps right to the door way so just go through. 6) You warp back to room 4 but now the east door is open, go that way. 7) Kill everything, head east and warp to Area 29 Challenge Mode - Stage 6 - Area 29 (Non-TA) |
Estimated Current Time: Around 32 minutes 1) Kill everything and head West. 2) Kill everything, have your box collector go west, everybody else go South. 3) The Northeast floor switch opens the East door (thats the switch directly at your left when you enter). Go East. 4) Kill everything, go Southeast and warp. 5) Kill everything and go Southeast. 6) Kill everything and go East. 7) Kill everything and go North. 8) After killing everything in this room, have one person go through the Southeast hall and the other three go the Northeast hall (both halls are filled with traps so be careful). 9) The person who went Southeast should make a left out of the hallway so they're heading North, flip that switch and go through the door (you're now back with your party but what you did is important for later). Everybody, go east. 10) DARK ROOM: This time you can't hit the switch until after the monsters are dead, so get used to fighting blind (use the map). After killing everything, the light switch (and boxes) are North (boxcollector goes there), everybody else go South. 11) Kill everything, have 3 people go Southwest and 1 person head back.... 12) The 3 people who went Southwest are now in the room with the warp to the boss. One problem: There is a laser fence in the way, however, the one member who went back is gonna solve that. In the meantime, head south and grab the boxes. After you do all that, don't wait near the laser fence but right at the intersection of the paths. There will be a barta trap that pops up when the one member hits the switch to release the fence, you 3 will need to deal with that. As for the one member who went back, here's what you do. Head back to Room 9 (where the one member took the Southeast hall), in this room head South to the the laser fence deactivator switch. Be warned, this is a timed switch that allows just enough time for you to run to the boss warp, one slip up and you'll have to rehit it. So push it, and pull up your start menu so you don't get slowed down by anything. Follow the walkthrough from rooms 9-12 and you will make it just in time to join your party to the warp to the boss. FO cast Shifta and Deband if you have the TP for it. Challenge Mode - Stage 6 - Area 30 (Non-TA) |

Estimated Current Time: Around 40 minutes Boss Strategy: For the first form I would like to yell at all the noobs (not even to Cmode but to fighting Vol Opt in general) DO NOT HIT THE SCREENS!!!!!! I despise seeing people do that! It wastes time and effort, especially in Cmode. Instead, wait for the pillars to rise up. Have 2 people go for the red one and the other 2 attack different blue ones. The reason being? As soon as all 6 pillars are destroyed, you automatically move to form two! Once at Form 2, everybody hit different parts (whatever is in front of you really lol) and just go all out, there isn't much strategy here. If he targets you for the pillar drop, just run around in a little area, if you run around the arena, he may target your teammates, better to take the bullet so you don't slow down the team. Once he dies you're done with the hell we so lovingly call Challenge 6! Congrats! Recommended Team: 1 HUcaseal, 2 HUcasts and 1 Fonewearl Good TA time: less than 28 minutes Ok TA on this Challenge is a real B***H, there are way more bad maps than good so you'll be restarting a lot. A good map consists of no more than 2 Dubchics by Area 29, if you have more than that, just quit right there. As with most the other more recent challenges, HUs drop their dolls for the FO. Since there is only 1 FO this time, only drop 1 doll each at first and drop the other later. About halfway through the challenge, the FO should drop her mates in even amounts for each HU. When there is a garanz, only let one person go into the room to deal with it (run circles around it with your start menu on so all his missles hit him and you don't get slowed down any). Onto the guide itself. Don't bother with the light switch in the Dark Room. Dont' get the items that are off of Room 8. Even though this is against the typical rules, you STILL get that buster, if you have a bad item drop map (not necessarily a bad map) you may not have any busters yet and your HUs need busters to go fast. FO can start dying for TP now, just time it well, this C gives a lot of exp per monster so you level more frequently, don't waste a doll before your level. And drop the mates for the HUs now. Don't get the light switch or boxes in Room 7, don't get the boxes off of Room 9. In the puzzle, have the FO go through the square and MOST DEFINITELY use my set-up for the floor switches (1,4,7 on one person, 2,6 on another, and 3,5,8 on the last). Don't get boxes in Room 2 or off of Room 10. Have the FO get the timed switch while everybody else gets the boxes in the South door and drops any fluids, and dolls for the FO near the boss warp (as well as any other items for teammates they picked up). On the first form, have 1 person per pillar (The HUcast should try to get the red one but whoever gets it, gets it), you don't have the tim to put 2 on one pillar now so just pray your members know how to kill quick. You should have all the pillars dead by the 2nd or 3rd time they pop up. On the Second form, use any weapons you have that hit many times (for HUs duh lol) and FO's cast barta i believe (try Zonde but i think barta is the best). Good Luck, you'll need it....
