Challenge Mode-Stage 7

Challenge Mode-Stage 7 - General Information

This is one doozy of a Challenge. It is VERY difficult, none of the Ruins challenges are easy but you start this one at the lowest level of them all (Plus all HUs start with a Gigush -.-;). It is long, it is arduous, and it is boring. You're in for a long haul, this is my least favorite challenge. On a plus side, all Forces start with Resta level 3, so now they can heal you which means HUs don't need to use their mates as much and they are then able to have loads saved up when/if they separate from the Force. However, just because the FO has resta doesn't mean you should make him/her use it, it eats 17tp per shot and that's a lot, try not to get hit too much and if only hurt by about 80 hp, then just use a mate to heal and spare the FO his/her TP. One last interesting note, for HUs (and possibly other classes though I'm not sure) feed your mag one antiparalysis as soon as you get the chance. Doing so will cause your mag to evolve into a Rudra and give it Photon Blast Golla. The main reason for doing this isn't for the Photon Blast but for the fact that when your PB gauge reaches 100, Rudra will give you invincibility (if you raise it well) so it can be helpful later.

Challenge Mode-Stage 7 - Non-TA Information

Recommended Team: 3 HUs (definitely a HUcaseal and probably a HUmar, you need the accuracy, and a HUcast is also good, but only 1) and a FO of any sort.

Estimated Completion Time: Roughly 45 minutes

Challenge Mode-Stage 7 - Area 31 (Non-TA)

1) Kill everything and exit West, send your box collector East but beware of the Zonde trap.

2) Kill everything and exit West.

3) Immediately make a right and exit North.

4) Send your box collector East past the waterfall and grab the boxes. Everyone else fight, when everything is dead, exit West.

5) Kill everything, exit Southwest.

6) Run quickly to avoid the Foie traps and exit West.

7) Exit South.

8) Kill everything and exit East.

9) Kill everything and exit South.

10) Kill everything, send your trap needing androids and TP needing FO South for the Heal ring that is located there. Everyone else exit Southeast.

11) If you team is the recommended team, then 3 people should be back at the health ring. This is convient because ONE person should continue down the path past the laser fences while the other 3 wait at the fence. That one person would be your HUmar (the only person who didn't need the health ring). Here's what the solo person should do, continue East on the path past all the laser fences.

12) Bring up your start menu and run past all the monsters and hit the switch at the far end of the room, the lowers the laser fence that blocked the path to all the other laser fences and then run back to Room 11. Back in Room 11, the three members of the team should go through the lowered fence. When one person stands on the floor switch, two barta traps will pop up on either side of the floor switch, be ready to destroy them. After they are dealt with, have on person stand on the floor switch. This lowers the lasers blocking the Northwest and Northeast warps. DO NOT TAKE THE NORTHWEST WARP! It is a trap! Have ONE person take the Northeast warp.

13) The person that warped in the Northeast warp, STAND ON THE FLOOR SWITCH! DO NOT WARP YET! Standing on that switch opens the Southwest and Southeast warps for the other 3 people. You three TAKE THE SOUTHWEST WARP! Now you will all be up top with the person who was holding down the switch for you. Now all of you take the warp in front of you. This will take you to the North-western room of the # shaped room. Run to the Southeast corner and have 2 people stand on the floor switches to open the door. Exit Southeast.

14) Hope that wasn't too confusing, phew. Anyway, kill everything and exit East.

15) DO NOT TAKE THE WARP IN THIS ROOM! My God, so many people have done that, it leads you to a room about 3 away from where you are now so don't do it. Kill everything and exit South to Warp to Area 32.

Challenge Mode-Stage 7 - Area 32 (Non-TA)

Estimated Current Time: Between 8 and 10 minutes

1) Kill everything and exit Northeast.

2) Kill everything and exit East.

3) Ok now it gets a little confusing. Have one person exit East and the other 3 go South. The player who went East, destroy the middle boulder and then hit the switch. Catch back up with your party.

4) Hehe, this is going to be fun to explain...have 3 people enter the laser fence pathway, destroy the boxes on the way. The other person needs to stay outside the laser pathway and go east (not through a door, just along the East side of the room). This leads to a timed switch which opens the Southwest door in this room. Once your three party members are near the door, hit the switch. This activates foie traps for the one person to deal with as they must quickly run back around and then run through the laser path to get to the door before the door locks again. Everybody exit Southwest and warp.

5) Ok, one last part of this confusing section. When entering this room, there is a line of laser fences running down the middle of the walkway all the way to the exit door. Run along the farther side of the laser fence (closer to the middle of the room, the way also contains lots of boxes). This path was originally locked by lasers but the one person that split away in room 3 deactivated them for you. If you take the outer path, numerous Foie traps are activated making it difficult to run through unscathed. Exit Southeast after collecting everything.

6) Kill everything and exit Southeast and warp to Area 33.

Challenge Mode-Stage 7 - Area 33 (Non-TA)

Estimated Current Time: About 15-16 minutes.

1) Kill everything and exit West.

2) Kill everything and exit North.

3) Kill everything and exit Northeast.

4) Kill everything and exit Northeast.

5) Send your box collector East and exit west. Then have two people stand on the floor switches to open the door.

6) Break the boxes near the North door and have two people stand on the teeny floor switches to open the door. Then have two people stand on the little, itty bitty, almost invisible floor switches to open the next door.

7) Kill everything, to the Southeast is a health ring, exit Northeast.

8) Kill everything and exit Southeast.

9) Kill everything and exit Northeast.

10) Kill everything and exit East.

11) Sneaky Trick Here: Remember the sliding technique I mentioned in the Challenge 4 guide? Well it can be easily applied here. Run Southeast along the laser fence and rocks until you reach the wall. Wedge yourself between the wall and the rock making sure the camera is at a 45 degree angle to the rock/wall (exactly diagonally between the two) and shift your control stick from left to right and eventually you'll pass through the rock. Only one person should be sliding while the other three wait at the laser fence. Once the one person gets through, hit the switch to lower the fence. If, for some reason, nobody can slide through this rock, have one person go Southwest. That person can only go one way (there are no side paths) and eventually they'll end up at two warps, take the left one and you'll end up on the other side of the laser fence to hit the switch. Whichever way you choose to do it, exit North.

12) Kill everything and exit East and warp to Area 34.

Challenge Mode-Stage 7 - Area 34 (Non-TA)

Estimated Current Time: About 27 minutes

1) Head East behind the waterfall and break the boulder to gain access to the health ring. Otherwise, kill everything and exit West and warp.

2) Kill everything and exit North.

3) Easy Puzzle: There are rows of laser fences here (along with many boxes in between each row). To deactivate the first laser row, hit the switch on the left. To deactivate the next, hit the switch on the right. To deactivate the next, hit the switch on the left, to deactivate the next, hit the switch on the right (see the pattern? lol). Exit North.

4) Kill everything and exit Northeast.

5) Dark Room: The next two rooms are dark rooms, by standing on the floor switch in this room, you'll illuminate the rooms. Kill everything and exit Southeast.

6) Kill everything and exit East and warp to Area 35.

Challenge Mode-Stage 7 - Area 35 (Non-TA)

Estimated Current Time: About 33 minutes.

1) Kill everything and exit West.

2) Kill everything and exit Northwest.

3) Kill everything and exit West.

4) Kill everything and exit Southwest.

5) Puzzle: Have ONE person take the Northwest path while the other three wait at the locked Southwest door. Solo person, continue down the path until you reach a room with two warps, take the left one. You are now in another room with two warps, take the left one. You are, again, in a room with two warps, take the right one. You are now in another-no just kidding lol, you're on top on the square in the middle of the # room (where your three team-mates are). Step (don't hold down) on the two switches up there and warp again. Everybody exit Southwest.

6) Kill everything and exit Southwest.

7) Kill everything and exit South.

8) Kill everything and exit Northeast.

9) Run along the left side of this walkway so the foie traps can't hit you.

10) Exit South.

11) Kill everything and exit Southeast.

12) Kill everything, east is a health ring and South is the exit.

13) Dark Room: The light switch is underneath the boulder in the Northeast corner. Kill everything and exit Southeast. You're DONE! Congratulations.

Challenge Mode-Stage 7 - TA Information

Recommended Team: 2 HUcasts (despite the lack of accuracy, you need the power, and if the HUcasts know what they're doing, they can compensate for the lack of ATA) a HUcaseal and a FOnewearl. You may also like to try 2 HUcasts and 2 Fonewearls.

Good TA Time: Less than 30 minutes

My personal best: 29:32

C7 is by far the hardest challenge to TA. I've seen a guy with 22 minutes, I just don't understand how that is possible, I've tried for a long time and only got that 29 you see above. I am content with 29 minutes (mainly because I despise Challenge 7 lol) but I would like a shorter time if I can ever muster up the tolerance to try for it. Here's the strategy. HUcasts, drop all three of your dolls in the first room, HUcaseal drop 2, this gives the FO 11 dolls to work with (if you do the 2 HUs and 2 FOs team, then each FO will have 6 to work with). This allows them to die twice per area, along with level ups, health rings, and the 8 monofluids they start with, your FO should be blasting magic like there's no tomorrow. About mid-way through, HUs drop any fluids you have and FO(s) drop any mates you have (in an even amount so each person gets an equal amount). Onto the knitty-gritty.

Challenge Mode-Stage 7 - Area 31 (TA)

Do not get any boxes and let your HUs handle the puzzles so the FO(s) can run ahead to kill stuff (i.e. Rooms 11-13).

Challenge Mode-Stage 7 - Area 32 (TA)

Have a HU hit split from the party in Room 3 to hit the Switch under the boulder. Also have a HU hit the timed switch in Room 4 and have your HUs grab the boxes in Room 5 (their Gigush's break many boxes at once making it faster).

Challenge Mode-Stage 7 - Area 33 (TA)

Only major difference here is to make you sure you slide (and you can do it in less than 5 seconds) and make sure it's a FO doing the sliding (they enter the next room first so it might as well be one of your fighters!).

Challenge Mode-Stage 7 - Area 34 (TA)

The health ring here is a must, some of the others are out of the way but this one is definitely ok to grab. Use it to kill the monsters in this room and refill after they're all dead.

Challenge Mode-Stage 7 - Area 35 (TA)

Have a Hunter do the warping puzzle so the FO(s) can go on ahead.

That's about it, it's difficult to make things go much faster in this challenge so Good Luck, you'll need it...
