Challenge Mode-Stage 8
You've come this far, don't turn back now!

Challenge Mode-Stage 8 - General Information

Ok, this challenge isn't nearly as bad as Challenge 7, it's still annoying but at least you're a higher level than before, making it slightly easier than Challenge 7. Unfortunately, HU's still start off with a Gigush so good luck finding a better weapon quickly. This challenge is roughly the same length as C7 yet it usually goes faster and with less hitches. Just be prepared for Chaos Bringers...there is actually a trick to fighting them. As a HU, run up to its left side (your right) but still stay in front of him, he will swing his sword and it'll miss you (goes over you) if you're in the right place. It's risky but once you get the hang of where to stand a single HU can take out a bringer and keep its attention, however, the whole party should be aware when it sucks TP to ready its blast, it will randomly select a target and it can usually instant kill anyone but the blast isn't too hard to dodge if you're paying attention. Like in Challenge 2, save up all the extra weapons you get, you'll need 8 eventually.

Challenge Mode-Stage 8 - Non-TA Information

Recommended Team: 2 HUcasts, a HUmar, and a FO (you can switch out 1 HUcast for a HUcaseal if you really want the extra ATA but be warned that HUcaseal are pretty frail so you have to be careful).

Estimated Completion Time: 35-40 minutes

Challenge Mode-Stage 8 - Area 36 (Non-TA)

Ok, I need to warn you now that after the second room there is a shortcut, however, you need to drop 4 weapons to get through the door for the shortcut. That means you need to have picked up 2 or 3 extra weapons in the first two rooms. To help your team out, shout out the number of weapons you found in a room when its cleared out (for example if you found 2 weapons in the first room, as soon as the room is clear you would say "2").

1) Kill everything, exit Southeast, send your box collector north if you want boxes.

2) Kill everything and now a decision is made. Depending on how many weapons you have found you will take one of two ways. The north path leads to the shortcut, if you've found 1 or 2 extra weaps head this way (don't forget, your FO doesn't need a weap so that 1/4 already and the room directly north of here has more monsters in it so more chances for weapons). If you don't have that many extras, head East.

Shortcut Path

3) Kill everything, and head north

4) Place one weapon on each floor switch and head east. End of Shortcut

Non-Shortcut Path

3) After warping, kill everything and exit West.

4) Dark Room: The switch in the western section of the room gets the lights. Kill everything and exit Southwest.

5) Run along the path and avoid the zonde traps. When you reach the two warps, take the left one. End Non-Shortcut Path

6) Now you're at this room one way or another, avoid the foie traps and exit North.

7) Exit East.

8) Kill everything and exit East.

9) Kill everything and exit Southwest.

10) Kill everything and exit Southeast.

11) After the hallway of traps, make a right and exit South (ignore the switches).

12) Dark Room: Kill everything and exit Northeast.

13) Kill everything and exit East to warp to Area 37

Challenge Mode-Stage 8 - Area 37 (Non-TA)

Estimated Current Time: 6-8 minutes

1) Kill everything and exit North.

2) Kill everything and exit North, warp.

3) Kill everything and exit East.

4) Kill everything and exit Southeast, warp.

5) Kill everything and exit Northwest.

6) There are a ton of those traps that fall down on you and trap you in this room. Luckily they're low enough to the ground that you can see them and plan a path. I like to walk along the right side of the path (to the left of the little poison pod thingy) but you can take any way you like, just try to stay between any two and neither will fall on you. Exit Northwest and warp to Area 38.

Challenge Mode-Stage 8 - Area 38 (Non-TA)

Estimated Current Time: 11-12 minutes

1) Kill everything and exit South.

2) Kill everything and exit Southeast, send your box collector South.

3) Have one person stay behind at the switch (DON'T PRESS IT YET) and the other 3 run east to Room 4

4) Person A STANDS on the first floor switch you see, releasing the right laser gate, B and C run through that fence, B stands on the right floor switch lowering the other right gate. C runs through the newly released gate to stand of the floor switch on the far side of the room (near the locked door and computer). This opens the left gate B to run through (Don't go through yet). B, you stand on the left floor switch now. At this point, D (who is in Room 3), you hit the switch and run like mad. A you run through the two left fences to meet up with C. Once D gets into the middle section with B (Note to B: you have to stay on the left switch until this time), both B and D run through the left fence to meet up with everybody (Note to C: you have to stay on your switch until this time). Once everyone is together, hurry through the Northeast door before it closes.

5) Kill everything and exit East.

6) Kill everything and exit Southeast.

7) Kill everything and exit East, box collector goes West.

8) Kill everything and exit East.

9) Kill everything and prepare for more Time Switch antics. One person, who is confident in their speed, head Southeast. The others go Northeast.

10) Party of 3: Stand in the middle of this room, as soon as your friend hits the timed switch a nasty zonde trap will pop up, dispose of it for your friend, once that is done, exit South.

11) Kill everything and exit Southeast.

12) Kill everything and exit South to warp to Area 39.

Challenge Mode-Stage 8 - Area 39 (Non-TA)

Estimated Current Time: 18-20 minutes

1) Kill everything and exit East.

2) If anyone has mechguns or daggers equip them just for the time being. Run up the middle path and start destroying the boulders. The first two have foie traps underneath but they only take one hit to destroy (which is why having a mechgun or dagger equipped is useful). The third and final boulder activates two foie traps on the sides of the walkway, ignore them and run to the Southwest door.

3) Kill everything and exit East, warp.

4) Kill everything and exit Southeast.

5) Laser Fence Room: If you want boxes, immediately after entering the room, make a right and deactivate that switch. Other than that, make a left and follow the path until you reach about the middle of the room. Deactivate the switch on the Western side of the room and then continue down the path to the door. Exit South, warp.

6) Kill everything and exit East to warp to Area 40.

Challenge Mode-Stage 8 - Area 40 (Non-TA)

Estimated Current Time: 25-27 minutes

1) Kill everything and exit South, box collector goes East.

2) Kill everything and exit Southeast.

3) Kill everything and exit East.

4) Remember those weapons I told you save? Here's where they are used, put down 4 on each switch, and exit East.

5) Kill everything and then a plan needs to be formed. The Eastern door is your destination but you'll notice it's locked by 4 locks. 2 switches are located on the South pathway and 2 are on the Northway. Send your strongest person South and the other three go North, trust me on this, the South path is less complicated, more fighting (make sure whoever goes south has a gun or at least a slicer).

South Way

6) Kill everything, exit South, warp, hit the switch and warp back. Exit Southwest.

7) In this room, destroy the boulder blocking the North path, hit the switch and use your gun to destroy the southern boulder. Follow the path and warp, you'll end up in Room 3. Run back to Room 5 and wait by the, now, half-locked door.

North Way

6) Kill everything, have one person exit North and the others go Northwest.

7) Person who went North, warp, take the west path first then hit the switch, go back and take the North path, and you'll be back at Room 2, get to Room 5 and wait. The other two who went Northwest have a simple puzzle to solve for the last switch. One person stays at the three floor switches and the other warps. The switches form a triangle, the one closest to you is the last one you hit (number 3), to the Northeast of that is the 2nd one you hit (number 2) and to the West of 2 is number 1. Go stand on number 1 after your team-mate has warped. Let them through the fence, then go stand on 2, when they are through that, stand on 3 and stay the until they hit the switch and come back, then get them back to the warp and both of you backtrack to Room 5.

8) Exit East from Room 5, Kill everything and exit East.

9) Kill everything and exit North, box collector goes South.

10) Run North and ignore the floor switches.

11) Kill everything and exit Northeast.

12) Avoid the Confuse traps and exit Northeast.

13) Kill everything and exit Southeast and you're done!

Challenge Mode-Stage 8 - TA Information

Recommended Team: 2 HUcasts and 2 FOnewearls (by now, the HUct are semi accurate and having 2 FOs is definitely a help now). Make sure you HUcts drop all your dolls like usual, having 6 dolls per FO will definitely make things go well.

Good TA Time: less than 28 minutes.

Challenge Mode-Stage 8 - Area 36 (TA)

Don't get boxes, and you MUST take the shortcut. If you don't get enough weapons, just quit and restart.

Challenge Mode-Stage 8 - Area 37 (TA)

No changes (this area is too simple as is lol)

Challenge Mode-Stage 8 - Area 38 (TA)

Make sure either of your FOs aren't person D or the person who get the timed switch near the end. Start dropping your mates for the HUs now and HU's drop your fluids for the FO's. 

Challenge Mode-Stage 8 - Area 39 (TA)

Ignore the boxes in the laser fence room and HU's worry about the switches.

Challenge Mode-Stage 8 - Area 40 (TA)

Make sure both your FO's go North and a HUcast goes South. Other than that, there's nothing else.

Sorry this TA guide wasn't so detailed, there really isn't much you can do to make C8 go faster. Good luck!
