Photon blasts are the most effective way of wasting your enemy in one swipe, well apart from using a T-JS :P. You use Photon Blasts when you have a full photon gauge. This is the little meter at the top left of your HUD and fills up with a yellow colour as your mag charges up enough energy. To get this energy your mag converts pain (when you are hit) into photon energy or when you hit a monster yourself, it is approximately 1 piece of energy per 3 strong hit combo at full synch. Mags get new photon blasts with evolutions, the max PBs a mag can have is 3. You can't gain all 3 PBs by feeding your mag with one character. You need to pass your mag to another player of a different class, ID or gender to evolve it. Once it has evolved on this player a new PB will become available and you will have all three at your disposal. There is also a method most commonly known as boosting. This is when anther player uses a PB and you press Y like the clappers. This uses 10 PB per button press and makes your friends PB stronger. You can only hit Y 3 times though, creating more damage or sharing some of the shifta and deband. If you have 100PB energy and someone else in your team does, you can both use them together, you have a 5 second window in which you can use your blast with your pals. A number comes beside your status display corresponding in the order which you both used your blasts, a maximum of 4 players can use blasts together. Each one has its own unique ability to waste enemies in utter style, here they are: Pilla: Pummels down rays of blue light that hits all enemies around you within a short distance. Dark Falz uses this blast on stage one and two. Very powerful and can wipe-out airborne enemies. Mylla and Youlla: Mostly knows as twins, these give you the power of shifta and deband. This is the blast that everyone should boost. If your team mates do boost. They will get shifta and deband which is approximately lvl 30-40. Also, if you boost this PB while you are dead, it will revive you instantly. Handy eh :P Leilla: This blast is simple. It restores the HP of the user who made the PB. Golla: This animal with antlers is the strongest of all PBs, the only downside is that it can only hit one enemy. Farlla: A snake like creature surrounds the player and hits a large amounts of enemies within a large radius. The damage is spread out evenly for the best effect. Estilla: The dolphin, as it is most commonly known as, is customary with rangers. This blast hits all enemies in front of the user with a tremendous force. Its range is very far.
