Purchasing your Japanese HL
Step-by-step guide to getting your Japanese Hunter's Lisence

This is a lot harder than entering your network information. Make sure you have your credit/debit card handy. You'll have to use some features of the keyboard that you probably haven't used before, so it might get a bit confusing.

20. Yes

Step 11:
The first set of points is to set how long your HL will run for. The first option is 30 days for 600 yen ($6/£3). The second is for 90 days for 1500 yen ($14/£8).
Make sure the first option is selected in the second part, this is to signify you will use your credit card.

Step 12:
Enter your access codes from page 71 of the Episode III manual.

Step 14:
This is the step where you will have the most trouble.

The first section requires you to enter your name in Kanji. Look here for some examples of Japanese names. Type in the English equivalent. eg "Sato" and it should show in Japanese characters. If you press the space bar, it will change to Kanji. Kanji are complex characters. Enter two Kanji names into the top row of boxes. An example of a Japanese name is Suzuki Hide (Surname is first).

The second section needs the same name you typed into each box in katakana. So in the above example, type Suzuki into the first box on the second row. This time, don't press the space bar. It should be in simpler (if you can call it that =P) symbols.

In the third section, just enter 3 numbers into the first box, and 4 into the second.

Type anything into the address line.

Telephone number now. Enter in as 2 numbers, then 4, then 4 again. Use 03 in the first box to signify Tokyo, just so it doesn't stick out as a false number.

Date of birth. You didn't need me for that one did you =).

...If you need help with this one (apart from the symbols) then please don't come to me to explain =/.

Enter an email address here.

Step 17:
Select your credit card from the drop-down menu. Enter the rest of the details in the relevant box.

If you need help, feel free to post in our Episode III forums. Or email me. See our Site Staff page for contact details.
