Blu-ray = the new betamax.

I guess the vast majority of people who have just upgraded their video collection to dvd cant wait to spend hundreds and hundreds more on upgrading to hd-dvd or blu-ray. I say get stuffed with your horrendous capitalist ways, asses, and leave well alone. Anyone notice how sony have been buying up the sole distribution rights to many movies so they can force us to buy blu-ray sooner than is obviously needed? Asses . BTW i'm all for capitalism, just not enforced corporate control of the media we viiew.

Funny as hd-dvd seems to turning into a much cheaper alternative haha but even so do we need 100hours of viewable extras tagged on to the end of films? No.

Oh, i hear sony say, blu-ray allows for totally uncompressed high-def movies on a single disk. Great. When more than a miniscule amount of consumers have a 50inch true high-def screen in their homes then fine, but give it 10 years ok sony. Too much too soon. They are using the ps3 soley as a tool to sell their expensive high-def sets grrrrr.

EDIT: Oh come on, doesnt anyone have anything to say about PS3 showing at E3? Strange i thought. It just seemed to me like the sony execs forgot that they were at E3 supposedly delivering on promises made. Oh well, it will still sell loads and loads............

$500-$600 that's too much for the system, Sony should stop trying to be like Microsoft and release just one system instead of two.

High street games shops have been told by Sony that there will be no PS3 pre-owned sections in their stores as it will be illegal for customers to sell any next-gen PlayStation games that they've bought, retail sources have revealed to GamesRadar.

It seems that Sony is planning to adopt a licensing system that will mean gamers won't own the PS3 titles that they've paid money for. Instead, they will only be purchasing the licence to play the game and that the software itself will still be Sony property - meaning that the disc won't be the customer's to sell.

We assume that the thinking behind this move will ultimately be to stop PS3 games being resold several times - which currently snatches potential sales away from Sony - and to counter the impression in consumers' minds that games are only really worth their pre-owned price and are not worth buying new.

When we contacted Sony, it issued us with the following statement: "We have made all of the official announcements at E3 and cannot make any further comments at this time. We will be announcing more news running up to PlayStation 3's launch."

Dont panic this is an old rumour and NOT true i promise. Anyway do you think if Sony could actually get away with this, that Nintendo and Microsoft wouldnt follow suit along with all other devs? Honest, it is a false old rumour. From what i have seen and read on the 'net recently Sony-bashing is the only sport out there. Heck even i got bored of it. Really.

*rolls eyes at my own sig* but its been there ages.....

Killzone FTW.....Oh wait, it disappeared. You know i would have a PS3 if Killzone wasn't one of those E3 2005 lies.

Unless you have an inside source you really cant promise anything.

True i guess, maybe i should recant somewhat, as it turns out Sony have patented the idea you put forward in your post. Why is this then. I believe foremost to actually stop their competition doing this, but also now i think maybe they actually could implement this in the future. Worries...
