Part of a 2 year celebration!

Ragol.co.uk has been live for over 2 years today, and in this anniversary edition of the Ragol.co.uk Hunters Gazette - We intend to tell you the story of it all, so make sure you're sitting comfortably with a warm drink by your side, because its story time boys and girls!
| Thats the very Headline as read from the very first news post on Ragol.co.uk, March 25th 2003, as posted by Ragol.co.uk's creator, otherwise known as 'Sol'.
That wasnt the only news post on Ragol.co.uk that day though, for as the evening went on, so did the updates, with Ragol's initial crew, consisting of Junon, Nosferatus, and Pirate, soon growing just days later with Hiro, Vulcan_T90, Bradd0rz, decswxaqz, and Proj3ct_Zer0, posting plenty of Phantasy Star Online related goodness! I expect a few of you Ragol.co.uk viewers may remember some of those names, especially if you used the forums regularly since the beginning. From the start of the website, we've supported all versions of Phantasy Star Online, including the original PC version, the SEGA Dreamcast titles, Versions 1 & 2 , the Nintendo Gamecube and Xbox Phantasy Star Online games (Inc. Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution), and will be supporting many more upcoming PSO games, for as long as SEGA continue to push them out! We hope you enjoy our service! Over the years (I can say that now, its plural!), Ragol.co.uk has hosted a fair amount of... stuff! Whether its guides, articles, or events, we've done it so YOU enjoy Phantasy Star Online to its optimum potential, and we don't intend to slow down anytime soon. The biggest test of Ragol's popularity came on September 28th 2003 - a big date for the website where we played host to our very first Battle Tournament! Organised by Proj3ct_Zer0, we invited 16 specially selected Ragol.co.uk battlers to come down to Alphard06 in the afternoon, to play through a series of battles, however it proved more popular then originally anticipated! Many individuals turned up, causing problems for Alphard06, as the lobby soon became full, pushing new entrants and viewers of the competition to the 2nd lobby, having reached the full capacity of Alphard06:01! Despite its initial lobby problems, the competition still went down a roaring success, with the forum administrators Sol and decswxaqz both participating as referees in the matchups, which proved more challenging then thought! Regardless, the competition was Ragol.co.uk's biggest to date, and could be responsible for the popularity this website still has today. If you're interested, why not have a peek at the results, especially uploaded one last time! Click Here to go to the results! Since Ragol.co.uk was alive, so was its forums, buzzing with action the day it was up and running. The forums have changed considerably since the start, with new forums as new games have hit us (Such as Episode III), new post layouts (Including the change in format with User Info), hosting forums for 'Clans', aswell as having new moderators, and most importantly, new members. Today Ragol.co.uk's forums has over 1,500 members, almost 5,500 threads, and far over 100,000 posts!!! This is why Ragol.co.uk is has become what it is today, and we'd like to take this moment to thank each and every one of those who have made such a service possible. Cheers! The forums have played a huge part in Ragol.co.uk's success, as the figures above prove, where almost anything PSO-based is discussed, aswell as anything thats not PSO related! Why not take the time after reading this Hunters Gazette to take a dip in the forum archives and look in all thats been discussed over the years, all the competitions that have been held from the forums (Including previous birthday competitions!), and much more. Where does Ragol.co.uk go from here? Well we've recently added ourselves in the limelights with Sonic Teams latest Phantasy Star games including Blue Burst and Universe, by posting the latest actions in the games from overseas, and by expanding our Forums for these new titles, and hope to be around to host competitions on them all, aswell as play host to news regarding many more Phantasy Star games to come. For as long as there is Phantasy Star, there is Ragol.co.uk - The Foremost Phantasy Star Online Resource! The Ragol.co.uk Mini-Timeline Quiz! |
